🛠️ Everything you need to know about drysuit repair: tips, service and common repairs
A drysuit is an indispensable part of the equipment of many divers, especially in colder waters or very long dives. However, such a suit has to endure a lot. Leaking seals, a broken zipper or worn neoprene seals are more common than you think. That is why it is crucial to have a drysuit repair carried out by a specialist in time. In this blog we explain how to recognize problems, which repairs we carry out at Scubarepair, and how to keep your suit in top shape.

🔍 Common drysuit problems
It doesn’t matter if you’re a recreational diver or a technical diver with hundreds of dives a year – sooner or later your drysuit will show signs of wear.
Some typical issues:
Leakage at the seams or in the crotch The most common complaint. We perform a leak detection with air pressure tests, locate the leak and seal it with professional sealants and reinforcement.
Torn latex seals Neck seals and wrist seals are sensitive to UV and wear. We replace them with latex or neoprene seals, depending on your preference and diving style.
Worn or broken zippers Both plastic and metal drysuit zippers can break or leak. We provide a complete zipper replacement within 2-3 weeks!
Tears in the neoprene or trilaminate Small tears can be glued or reinforced with patches, depending on the material type. We can even neatly repair holes from rats and martens.
Air valves and inflators that malfunction We can also maintain or replace these parts, so that your suit functions perfectly again.
Many different models in stock so that you can make your choice from the best.

Silicone seals These can also become thin over time and eventually tear open in one go. Make sure you have a spare with you when this happens to save your dive.
💡 Tips to keep your drysuit in top condition
Always rinse your suit with fresh water after every dive, especially around the zipper and seals.
Store it dry and dark, on a hanger to prevent loss of shape.
Have an annual check carried out, just like with your regulators.
We can tell you if something is wrong and sometimes see the broken part coming.
Avoid oil, sunscreen and chemicals on latex parts.
Use zipper wax or silicone spray to extend the life of your zipper.
Respond to the first signs of a leak – a damp sock or wrist can be an indication.
